Period B - Today we corrected the assignment from Friday involving product and quotient of powers and order of operations questions. It seems we were doing well but just to confirm that wehave scheduled a quiz for Thursday.  This quiz will cover  eerything we looked at form 2.1-2.3 of the textbook.  That being: exponents of zero, exponents of one, powers of ten, order of operations and also dealing with negatives with powers.

More interesting however, we looked at multiplication and compared the way parents probably learned it to the way it is sometimes taught today.  Here is a side by side comparison of each strategy.  Which do you prefer?  Take the poll on the right of the page.

Period E

Today we started our review.  Students completed an activity where they answered questions from different levels of difficulty and then compared answers with eachother through discussion.  Here is what it kind of looked like.
